‘M.C.A. Hameed Hajiyar Trust’ launches welfare projects in Sri Lanka. Accordingly, ‘M.C.A. Hameed Hajiyar Scholarships’ were awarded by the M.C.A. Hameed Hajiyar Trust Fund and a grant of Rs. 10000 each for 62 undergraduates of the University of Kelaniya were awarded by Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, on the 3rd of October 2017 in a ceremony held at the Senate Room of the University.
The purpose of this scholarship awarding ceremony was to achieve peace and harmony among other people by helping them as much as possible. The event was participated by Prof. Lakshman Senevirathne, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Patrick Ratnayake, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr. W.V.A.D. Karunarathne, the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, Mr. W.M. Karunaratne, the Registrar, M. Piyathilake, the Senior Assistant Registrar and many undergraduates. The selection of undergraduates who were eligible for the scholarship and other related activities of this event were done under the supervision of Mr. W.M. Karunaratne, the Registrar of the University of Kelaniya.
