A Cultural Exchange Programme organized by the Japanese Club in collaboration with the Department of Modern Languages of the University of Kelaniya was successfully held on the 30th of October 2017 at Kotahene Sri Pragnakeerthi Memorial Hall of the University. The main objective of this programme was to provide an insight into the Japanese and Sri Lankan cultures.
Prof. Katushiro Yamada and Prof. Jungwook Shim from the Kyoto Sangyo University, Japan, Prof. Patrick Ratnayake, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr. Dilrukshi Rathnayake, Head of the Department of Modern Languages, Dr. Naho Komatsubara, Japanese Language Expert, academic staff of the Faculty of Humanities, members of the Japanese club and many undergraduates participated in this event.
A special discussion between the delegates from the Kyoto Sangyo University, Japan and Prof. Patrick Rathnayake, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities took place at the Dean’s office on the same day. The focus was on strengthening the collaboration between the two universities.
