A special presentation to introduce the latest technological features introduced by Sri Lanka Telecom PLC-Mobitel to the University community was held on the 9th of November 2017 at the Senate Room of the University. The focus was on introducing M-cash Services and M-learning Services to the University Community. In addition, the Sri Lanka Telecom PLC-Mobitel has agreed to introduce other latest technological features and services to suit the needs of the university community as well.
Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Mr. Kumarasinghe Sirisena, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Telecom PLC chaired the session and led the discussion. Dr. P.N.D. Fernando, Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, Dr. P.G. Wijayaratna, Dean, Faculty of Computing and Technology, Prof. P.M.C. Thilakaratne, Director, Center for Distance and Continuing Education, Dr. K.G.D. Weerasinghe, Director, Information & Communication Technology Centre and the members of the Web Masters’ Committee participated in the discussion.
The discussion was organized by the Research and Publication Branch as per the instructions of the Vice-Chancellor in response to a proposal made by the Prof. Nilanthi de Silva, the Dean, Faculty of Medicine.
