Media briefing on the 2nd National Summit on People Management 2017 (NSPM 2017)

A media briefing on the 2nd National Summit on People Management 2017 (NSPM 2017) organised by the Department of Human Resources Management of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya was held on 5th December 2017 at the Senate Room of the University.

The NSPM 2017 will be held for the Second consecutive year based on the theme: ‘Peopling for Innovation’, which corresponds with today’s context of the Human Resource Management. The event will be held on the 12th of December 2017 at the Kingsbury, Colombo from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The summit intends to congregate all the stakeholder sectors including the professionals, policy makers, postgraduates and undergraduates.

Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Minister for Special Assignments will grace the event as the Chief Guest. The Professional keynote speaker will be Mr. Dian Gomes, Chairman at Hela Clothing (Pvt.) Ltd. while the Academic keynote speaker will be Prof. Chandima Gomes, Professor of Electrical Engineering at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The keynote address for the Postgraduate Caucus will be conducted by Associate Prof. Roziah Mohd Rasdi, Department of Professional Development & Continuing Education, Faculty of Educational Studies, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) while the Keynote speech for the Undergraduate Confab will be conducted by Mr. Buddhi Paranamanna, Project Manager, Hela Clothing (Pvt.) Ltd.

The media briefing on the 2nd NSPM 2017 was mainly participated by Dr. P.N.D. Fernando, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies and Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa, Director of the Communication & Media Unit, the University of Kelaniya. In addition, Dr. D.U. Mohan, Head of the Department of Human Resources Management and the Chief Convener of the 2nd NSPM 2017, Senior Lecturer (Ms.) W.A.S. Weerakody, Co- Convener of the 2nd NSPM 2017 as well as Senior Lecturer (Ms.) H.M. Nishanthi, Co-Convener of the 2nd NSPM 2017 along with other academic staff of the Department of Human Recourses Management also participated in the event.
