Felicitation Ceremony for Professor Mangalika Jayatunga and launch of ‘Jayathu’

The Felicitation Ceremony organised by Visual Arts & Design and Performing Arts Unit of the Department of Fine Arts attached to the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Kelaniya, as a mark of gratitude to Professor Mangalika Jayathunga at her retirement, took place on the 21st of December 2017 at Professor Kotahene Sri Pragnakeerthi Nayake Thero Memorial Hall (K14). Concurrently, the Felicitation Volume named ‘Jayathu’ as a tribute to Professor Mangalika Jayathunga was also launched.

The keynote address of the event was delivered by Professor Sarath Amunugama, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya and appreciated her remarkable service rendered to the University.

Professor Lakshman Seneviratne, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Patrick Ratnayake, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Retired Senior Professor Chandrasiri Palliyaguru, Professor Mangalika Jayatunga, Dr. Prashanthi Narangoda, Head of the Department of Fine Arts, Professor B.D. Nandadeva, other academic staff of the Department, Heads and academic staff of other Departments of the Faculty of Humanities and many undergraduates participated in this ceremony.
