A cultural tour was organised by the Centre for International Affairs for the undergraduate and postgraduate lay students of the Faculties of Commerce & Management, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science on the 26th of December 2017. Students from Bangladesh, Bhutan, France, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Korea, Nigeria, Pakistan and Uganda joined the tour to the South of Sri Lanka. Among the highlights of the tour were visits to Kalutara Sacred Temple and the Richmond Castle in Kalutara and a taste of authentic local cuisine. The tour gave the students ample opportunities to learn more about Sri Lanka, interact with each other and come in contact with the local culture.
The participants expressed their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. M. Semasinghe for providing them this unique opportunity with all the facilities provided.
Professor Neelakshi C. Premawardhena, Director of Centre for International Affairs, Professor Niroshini Gunasekera of Department of Modern Languages, Ms. Shashini Chandrasekara, Coordinator of Centre for International Affairs and Ms. Dulshani Gopaluwewa, Coordinator of Centre for International Affairs also went on this cultural tour.
