Awarding of appointment letters – Green Task Force, University of Kelaniya

The Appointment letters for the members of Green Task Force (GTF) of University of Kelaniya were awarded on the 4th of January 2018 at the Senate Room of the University of Kelaniya. A number of thirty five non-academic staff members representing different academic Departments and administrative divisions received their appointment letters from Professor Lakshman Senevirathne, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, University of Kelaniya.

The GTF was established to provide an opportunity to non-academic staff members to involve in volunteer activities to implement the environment policy of the University. As the initial step GTF members will involve in mosquito breeding site eradication and solid waste management programmes. CSS has planned to conduct several training programmes and to organise industrial visits to GTF members to increase their awareness on sustainability concerns. Mr. W.M. Karunarathne, Registrar, University of Kelaniya, Dr. U.P.K. Epa, Director, Centre for Sustainability Solutions (CSS) and members of CSS graced the occasion.
