Visit from Faculty of Business and Economics, Monash University, Australia

Associate Professor Ramanie Samaratunge from the Department of Commerce, Faculty of Business and Economics, Monash University, Australia called upon Professor D. M. Semasinghe, Vice Chancellor on the 26th February 2018 at the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. The preliminary discussions were held on future cooperation between the two universities including the commencement of AusAID funded training programmes for academic staff of the University of Kelaniya.
Earlier, Professor Samaratunge has initiated several AusAID funded training programmes and research projects in Sri Lanka. Her areas of expertise include public management in developing countries – mainly South Asia, public governance, cross-cultural management and Asian immigrants in Australia. Present at the meeting were Dr. P.N.D. Fernando, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce & Management Studies, Professor Neelakshi C. Premawardhena, Director, International Affairs, Dr. Prabhashini Wijewantha, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Human Resource Management and Ms, Sashini Chandrasekara, Coordinator, International Cooperation of Centre for International Affairs. The visit of Professor Samaratunge was initiated by Dr. Prabhashini Wijewantha and coordinated by Professor Neelakshi C. Premawardhena.
