An MoU with Deakin University, Australia

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between University of Kelaniya and Deakin University, Australia on the 26th of April 2018 at the Vice-Chancellor’s Office. The MoU was signed by Prof D. M. Semasinghe, Vice-Chancellor, University of Kelaniya and Prof Gary Smith, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Global Engagement. The MoU signifies the joint aspirations of Deakin University and University of Kelaniya to develop a strategic alliance in international education between Australia, and Sri Lanka. Deakin University hopes to deliver offshore PhDs in collaboration with University of Kelaniya and exchange of staff, students, educational resources and publications, joint research, teaching and learning, and collaborative projects are envisaged through the new partnership.
The signing was witnessed by Professor Ariyarathna Jayamaha, the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Prof A. H. M. H. Abayarathna, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Patrick Ratnayake, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr P. N. D. Fernando the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, Professor Neelakshi C. Premawardhena, Director of International Affairs, Mr. W. M. Karunarathne, Registrar, Mr H. M. N. C. Herath, Deputy Bursar of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Mr. K. B. S. L. Wijeratne, Senior Assistant Registrar of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
