A delegation from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Tirupathi, Palakkad and Bhubaneswar, India called upon Professor D. M. Semasinghe, the Vice Chancellor of University of Kelaniya on the 26th April 2018 at the Vice Chancellor’s office. Initial discussions were held on staff and student exchange opportunities available for Master and Doctoral studies at the IIT and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for future collaboration.
The delegation comprised Prof. Swarup Kumar Mahapatra, School of Mechanical Sciences, IIT Bhubaneswar, Prof. Vinod Prasad, Dean, Industry Relations and Sponsored Research, IIT Palakkad and Assistant Prof. P. Venkataraman, Mechanical Engineering, IIT Tirupati.
This event was attended by Prof. Ariyarathna Jayamaha, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Prof. B. M. Jayawardena, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Prof. Patrick Ratnayake, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Mr. W. M. Karunaratne, the Registrar, Senior Lecturer J. T. S.
