Erasmus Mundus IMPAKT Project incoming academic staff mobility grantee Prof. Nicolas Hurst is attached to the Department of English Teaching for a period of one month. Prof. Hurst is from the Department of Anglo-American Studies of the Faculty of Letters. University of Porto, Portugal and has extensive teaching and research experience on English Language Teaching. During his stay at the university Prof. Hurst will be conducting lectures and workshops for the undergraduates and the academic staff and discuss on joint research projects.
Prof. Hurst is the fifth scholar to visit the University of Kelaniya under the Erasmus Mundus IMPAKT Project funded by the European Commission. The project is coordinated by Prof. Neelakshi C. Premawardhena.
Prof. Hurst called upon the Vice Chancellor Prof. D.M. Semasinghe on 14th June 2018 at the Office of the Vice Chancellor. Present at the occasion were Prof. Patrick Rathnayake, Dean- Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Neelakshi C. Premawardhena, Director- International Affairs, Mr. Hasitha Pathirana, Head- Department of English Language Teaching, Ms. Sashini Chandrasekara, Coordinator for International Cooperation and Ms. Dulshani Gopaluwewa, Coordinator for International Student Affairs of the Centre for International Affairs.
