An academic collaboration agreement was signed between the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom and the University of Kelaniya on the 25th of June 2018 at the Office of the Vice- Chancellor.
This agreement was signed with the objective of joining the University of Kelaniya in the data innovation pilot study: “Evidence for Better Lives”. “Evidence for Better Lives” is a multi-country study to identify factors influencing child development and risk factors for the violence against children. Prof. Asvini D. Fernando is the main collaborator from Sri Lanka as a co- investigator.
Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, Vice- Chancellor of University of Kelaniya signed the agreement representing the University. The signing was witnessed by Prof. N.R. De Silva, Dean- Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Asvini D. Fernando, Department of Paediatrics and Prof. Pathmeswaran, Department of Public Health.
