A special workshop on research, jointly organized by the Research Centre and the Research Committee of the Faculty of Humanities, University of Kelaniya was held on the 05th, 06th, and 07th of September 2018 at the Board Room of the Faculty of Humanities.
The workshop was organized aiming the academic staff members of the Faculty of Humanities and the University and the external researchers who presented their research papers relevant to the International Conference on Humanities which will be held in the future. One of the other objectives of the workshop was to focus on probationary and temporary assistance lecturers of the Faculty of Humanities in order to develop their research skills.
The workshop consisted of four sessions and those were conducted by Prof. Maithree Wickramasinghe and Senior Lecturer Dr. Praba Manurathna, Department of English, Senior Lecturer Dr. Shyamani Hettiarachchi, Department of Disability Studies, Faculty of Medicine, Senior Lecturer Dr. Harini Amarasooriya, Open University of Sri Lanka.
The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Patrick Rathnayake, Dean- Faculty of Humanities and the then Chairman (acting) of the Research Council Prof. Ariyarathne Jayamaha, Dean- Faculty of Graduate Studies, Senior Lecturer Dr. Samanthi Jayawardhena, Director- Research Centre, Faculty of Humanities, Ven. Prof. Therele Dhammarathana Thero, President of the Research Committee and Head of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies and the academic staff members of the Department of Humanities.
At the end of the workshop, certificates were distributed to all the academic staff members and the researchers by Prof. Patrick Rathnayake.
