The Diploma Awarding Ceremony for the Diploma Programs in Vāstuśāstra and Sanskrit, organized by the Department of Sanskrit and Eastern Studies at the University of Kelaniya, was successfully held on 25th October 2025 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The inauguration ceremony of the 2025 intake of the Master of Science in Management and Information Technology program, offered by the Department of Industrial Management, University of Kelaniya, was successfully held on November 1, 2025, at the Auditorium of the Department of Industrial Management.
Mr. M. A. M. Akram, representing the Department of Accountancy, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies, University of Kelaniya, was honoured with the ACCA Gold Medal for the Outstanding Performer of the Bachelor of Business Management Honours in Accountancy Degree Programme for the academic year 2023/2024.
The inauguration ceremony of the 2nd batch of the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations and Media Management, offered by the Department of Mass Communication, University of Kelaniya, was successfully held on the 26th of October 2025, at the Boardroom of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The University of Kelaniya proudly secured 2nd place at the Target Sprint Shooting Competition – 2025, organized by the Academic Air Arms Association and held on the 4th and 5th of October 2025 at the Air Gun Shooting Range Grounds of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority – Security Training School, Colombo 02.

The Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies (PGIPBS) of the University of Kelaniya was known as the Vidyalankara Institute of Buddhist Studies since its inception on 23rd November 1975 until 30th December 1979. Then, it was affiliated to the Vidyalankara Campus of the University of Ceylon (Sri Lanka). Its present name, status, and structure derived from the Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies Ordinance No.8 of 1977, which came into operation on 1st January 1980.

The Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology (PGIAR) was established on the 1st January 1986, by order dated 18th December 1985, under section 24A of the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978 by the University Grants Commission. The PGIAR is a Postgraduate Institute of the University of Kelaniya. It is the prime institution for postgraduate studies and research in archaeology and subjects related to archaeology in the country.
