Colours Awards Ceremony 2008-2009

Colours Night of the University of Kelaniya is a much prestigious event in the university.  In significance, it is second only to the Convocation ceremony of the university. This special event celebrates the outstanding performances of talented sportsmen and sportswomen who have brought pride and honour to their alma mater.

The ceremony is held annually at Dharmaloka Convocation Hall. In February 11, 2011 Colours Night for the academic year 2008/2009 was held with the gracious presence of the Vice Chancellor Professor Sarath Amunugama as the Chief Guest and Mrs. Amunugama as the Guest of Honour. Among 1,500 students who actively participate in a variety of 19 sports, only 229 sportsmen and sportswomen were awarded University Colours for their exceptional performances in sports for the academic year 2008/2009.
