Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Institute

Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Institute is a well recognized center of learning for Ayurveda education in Sri Lanka. The institute was originally setup in 1928 in response to the demand from the society for a fully fledged learning centre to provide the traditional physician with the knowledge and competence in herbal drug preparation and indigenous chikitsa.

Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology

The Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology is officially inaugurated in 1985, with the blessings and patronage of the Central Cultural Fund and the University of Kelaniya. The Mission of the institute is to promote the science of archaeology and related fields by developing research, conducting courses of learning and conferring postgraduate degrees, and by popularizing knowledge of the subject.

Sri Lanka is considered as a blessed land for protection and preserving Buddhism. Hence it is called as "Center of Theravada Buddhism". The Postgraduate Institute of Pali and Buddhist Studies was established as a centre of learning for the Theravada Buddhism through research and Buddhist scholarship.
