The HETC QIG Window 3 grant was awarded to Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya for implementation and development of innovative postgraduate research programmes promoting economic development, improvement of well-being of the people and environmental sustenance in Sri Lanka. This will enable to provide postgraduate training within the country to produce much needed expertise in various fields to contribute and lead in major development activities in Sri Lanka.
A group of Research Assistants Recruited under HETC-QIG Window 3 Program
Further a Central Equipment Laboratory was established to share the equipment among research groups at the Faculty of Science. The Vice Chancellor of the University readily granted Rs. 12 Million for the renovation of the space allocated and to purchase most wanted equipments for the ongoing projects at the Faculty which are already housed at the Centre. The equipment that will be procured through HETC –Window 3 grant and other grants in future will also be housed at the Central Laboratory.
