The University Higher Education Management System (UHEMIS) of the Improving Relevance and Quality of Undergraduate Education (IRQUE) Project has selected the University of Kelaniya (UOK) as one of the five pilot Universities to implement the UHEMIS project.
Under this project implementation, the pre-pilot UHEMIS trainer training programme was commenced at UOK on 15th June 2009. The initial training of the five University Nominated Trainers (UNTs) was conducted by the Supplier’s Team (ST) comprising personnel from the BC Computers Ltd and SW Global Ltd from 15th to 21st June 2009. The role-based training of the Faculty (and Administrative Branch) Nominated Trainers (FNTs) was conducted by the UNTs with assistance from the ST from 23rd to 30th June 2009.
Demonstration type training sessions (Solution Walk Through) were conducted by the UNTs with assistance from the ST for the Heads of Departments of the Faculties of Commerce & Management, Humanities, Science and Social Sciences, Administrative Officers, and the Vice Chancellor, Deans of Faculties and other officials of the University on 2nd, 4th and 7th July 2009 respectively. During these training sessions several minor as well as major issues relating to the improvement of the processor and data requirements of the UHEMIS and proper implementation of this project at UOK have been identified. This pre-pilot UHEMIS trainer training programme at UOK was concluded on 10th July 2009. |
