Research Interests:

Main subject area of teaching is Microbial Biochemistry and Physiology. The training at University of Edinburgh was on Rhizobial exopolysaccharides and their relevance in host-bacterial interactions. Involved in four years of research work with the Environmental Research Group, Napier University, UK, on construction of Bacterial Biosensors. The particular work was centred on genetically constructing a whole cell biosensor that would work as a real time probe for quantitative evaluation of DNA damaging pollutants.

The present research interests are related to the above work and microbiology of pollution monitoring in general.
