Among the internal undergraduates 1.46% are foreign students and the majority of foreign undergraduate students belong to the Faculty of Humanities.
A total of 3,012 students have been enrolled in the studies in all the faculties for undergraduate degree programs. Among these students, 1.5% are enrolled under the foreign category. The majority of the new batch is female students and among the foreign enrollment the majority is male students.

Students in Postgraduate Degree Programmes

University of Kelaniya, Faculty of Graduate Studies offers postgraduate study opportunities in pursuing Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s Degree programmes, MPhil Degree programmes and Doctoral Degree programmes. In the year 2017 a total of 2,709 students have been studying in several postgraduate degree programmes and among these, 1,771 students are new entrants to the Postgraduate degree programmes and 6 are foreign students.

Graduate Output

In 2017, 3,700 students have been passed out from undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. With undergraduate degree programmes, a total of 1,751 students out of 2,431, have obtained a class which represents 72% of the total undergraduate output. Also, 1,269 graduates have passed out from postgraduate study programmes.

UoK- The Lankan icon in international HE Sector

In the year of 2017, total of 59 international staff has visited the University for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching under visiting scholar programs and for researches and research conferences. The following table illustrates descriptive information on internal staff visited the University.
For professional development, 81 academic staff members of each Faculty have received scholarships and fellowships for various kinds of workshops, research conferences and awards.
The total number of foreign students enrolled in internal undergraduate degree programmes is 147 and the majority of the students are male students.
