The International Seminar on ‘Thai Culture and Heritage’

The International Seminar on ‘Thai Culture and Heritage’ organised by the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya was held on the 19th of March 2018 at Buddhist & Pali University of Sri Lanka. The main purpose of this seminar was to expand the knowledge of Thai culture and heritage as well as to promote academic activities related to culture and heritage studies in Sri Lanka.

Professor J.B. Dissanayake delivered the keynote address at the occasion. Venerable Senior Professor Gallelle Sumanasiri Thera, Venerable Vice-Chancellor of Buddhist & Pali University of Sri Lanka and Professor D.M. Semasinghe, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya graced the event as the Chief Guests.

In addition, the event was participated by Senior Professor Lakshman Senevirathne, Deputy Vice – Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Senior Professor N.P. Sunil Chandra, Chair Professor of Medical Microbiology and Chairman of the Research Council, Senior Professor Anura Manatunga, Director of the Centre for Heritage Studies of the University of Kelaniya, academic staff members of the University of Kelaniya and Buddhist & Pali University of Sri Lanka, 17 Thai academics and undergraduates of the University of Kelaniya and Buddhist & Pali University of Sri Lanka.
