During the past few days, several discussion sessions were held between the University of Kelaniya and the Akdeniz University.
These discussions were conducted during the visit of a delegation from Akdeniz University, Turkey, a partner university through Erasmus+ and Mevlana Exchange Programmes, to the University of Kelaniya from the 01st to 06th of August 2018.
Prof.Dr. Binnur Genç İlter, Advisor to the Rector for International Relations, Asst Prof. Dr. Rabia Venze, Project Expert and Educational Advisor and Ms. Nurgül Büyükkalay, Erasmus+ and Mevlana Exchange Programme Institutional Coordinator participated in the discussion representing the Akdeniz University.
A discussion between Prof. Patrick Rathnayake, Dean- Faculty of Humanities and the delegates from the Akdeniz University was held on the 01st of August at the Office of the Faculty of Humanities. Prof. Neelakshi C. Premawardhane, Director- International Student Affairs Unit, Senior Lecturer Dr. Dilrukshi Rathnayake, Head- Department of Modern Languages and Senior Lecturer Mr. Hasitha Pathirana, Head- Department of English Language Teaching participated in the discussion.
Discussions were held on Erasmus+ staff exchange with the Faculty of Education and Faculty of Letters of Akdeniz University and reviving The Mevlana Exchange Programme to benefit student exchange.
The delegation called upon Prof. D.M. Semasinghe, Vice- Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya on the 03rd of August 2018. During the discussion, special attention was paid to the improvement of interrelationship between the two universities. The meeting was attended by Dean- Faculty of Humanities, Director- International Student Affairs Unit, Ms. Sashini Chandrasekara, Coordinator- International Cooperation and Ms. Dulshani Gopaluwewa, Coordinator- International Student Affairs.
The visit of the delegation was organized by the Centre for International Affairs.
